About this font.

The Times of London commissioned a new type of design for the paper's body text in 1931. Stanley Morison was in charge of the design process. Times is a revamped version of the earlier typeface ‘Plantin’, which Morison was told to utilize as the foundation for his new designs. The Times typeface became the publishing industry's workhorse and is still widely used, especially in newspapers, periodicals, and business communications such as proposals and annual reports. It is still a must-have typeface for today's designer due to its flexibility.

This is the Times' universal version, which was formerly used on the matrices of Linotype hotmetal machines. All PostScript RIPs provide the fundamental four weights: roman, italic, bold, and bold italic. As a result, the additional tiny capitals and Old Style Figures are ideal.

Times contains the following weights: Times roman, Times italic, Times semi bold, Times semi bold italic, Times bold, Times bold italic, Times Eighteen extra bold.
